The Magic of Learning

Assistant Principal - Mrs. Swayze

Mrs. Catherine Swayze

I am currently in my 19th year in the Edison Public School.  I served as a Supervisor of Special Services for 14 years and have experience in all grade levels. I have extensive knowledge of all learning disabilities and New Jersey Special Education laws concerning individualized education planning and programs.

The last four years I have been an Assistant Principal at the Edison Preschool Program. I supervised the Early Learning Center and the FDR Building in all capacity as the Administrator under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent.

This year I am excited to be the Assistant Principal at JMP Elementary under the direction of Mr. Seiler. My philosophy is “all children can learn,” “students need to be taught to their strengths; not to their weaknesses, and “students’ needs come first.” Also, communication is a key component as I communicate frequently with parents, guardians, staff, and administration to resolve problems and respond in a timely fashion.

I am a proud graduate of Georgian Court University with several degrees and facilitated parent training workshops on Autism Spectrum Disorder, presented at NJ Board Convention in Atlantic City, NJ, and assisted in planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising the Annual Special Education Symposiums. As an administrator, I have strong interpersonal skills, strong problem solver, and result oriented.

I am looking forward to working in a very inclusive environment at JMP.
