The mission of the Public Schools of Edison Township is to ensure that all students achieve at the highest level of academic success.  The district, in partnership with the community, will provide a safe, supportive learning environment which promotes self-worth and encourages productive contributions to a diverse and constantly evolving global society.

At JMP, we believe in harnessing the unique strengths of every student, from Kindergarten through 2nd grade, to prepare them for the challenges of the 21st century. With a student body of approximately 520, our school includes 3 Self-Contained Autistic classes, 3 LLD classes, and 7 classes each for Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade.

Our dedicated staff excels at delivering engaging, real-world, hands-on lessons tailored to each student's needs. By using anecdotal notes and diverse data points, our teachers personalize instruction based on the NJ Student Learning Standards. In addition to core subjects, students enjoy Music, Art, Spanish, and Physical Education classes.

To support 21st-century skills, every student is equipped with technology: iPads for Kindergarten and Chromebooks for 1st and 2nd grades. These devices enhance learning and complement, rather than replace, the vital instruction provided by our teachers.

Students in 1st and 2nd grades have the chance to join a variety of enriching clubs, including but not limited to: Soccer, Drama, Coding, Newspaper, Health and Fitness, Math, Reading and Student Council. Our Student Council members take on leadership roles, engaging in fundraisers and community activities. Their efforts have led to the development of an outdoor lunchroom/classroom and a STEAM lab.
